Perry Carter is a self-taught painter with a background in photography and interior design. She finds inspiration for her art in all of Earth's creatures, whether human, animal, physical, spiritual or something in between. She often draws on the surreal to capture the viewer's imagination, playing with scale and tone, as well as incorporating elements of realism and fine detail.
Perry's work has appeared in magazines, newspapers, websites, and has been used as CD cover artwork. She was recently awarded a grant from The Turkeyland Cove Foundation and has shown her work in several galleries in Massachusetts. In addition to her painting career, she maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Northampton, Massachusetts where she lives with her talented musician-husband and two kooky spaniels.
